Bubble City
In the city where I lived
Freedom was a game to play.
A bubble city with bubble hearts
Where our citizen hearts might lay.
I rolled the dice and, luck with me
They told me I was allowed to leave,
But the bubble stayed in my chest,
Upon what I felt it fed and thieved
The rules, they said, were simple and clear
Your body is free, but your heart stays here.
Away, a journey broad and vast
I fled the locked box that was my home,
The world was big and curious,
And I was determined to see it all.
After fairing many cities
And much bounty passed through my hands
I stumbled upon the lowest of places,
Dry and gray, more dust than sand.
